The current #EconomicCrisis in #lka will push a lot of vulnerable communities towards more significant challenges. Sri Lanka Red Cross Society is in the process of surveying how many will fall into the most vulnerable category. At this 11th hour, we need to unify to face this challenge. IFRC




With the current economic crisis Sri Lanka Red Cross Society has taken steps to provide relief packs to school children in rural areas. I was fortunate enough to take Sarah Hulton OBE to witness our work in Thalawa, AβPura today. We have a lot more work to do. #lka #SLinRecovery



With the economic crisis raging on & the Heath Sector being one of the most vulnerable areas, today I met Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella along with AP Regional Dir. of #IFRC Alexander Matheou to discuss #RedCross support for the crisis. #LKA

Today we at Sri Lanka Red Cross Society briefed the diplomatic community on the current #SriLankaEconomicCrisis and our needs assessment findings. Whilst the data weβve gathered project a gloomy future, as an organisation, we believe we can overcome it if we act now. #lka


With the monsoonal rains set in, our branch disaster response teams have been activated and they are now assisting flood affected communities island wide. We will provide first aid, medical support & cooked food to the affected. #lka #SriLankaFloods Sri Lanka Red Cross Society



As monsoon rain swamps low-lying areas in Sri Lanka, Red Cross volunteers are responding. "Our volunteers are assisting the most vulnerable affected by the floods. Teams are providing cooked meals, first aid and medical support." -Jagath Abeysinghe, President Sri Lanka Red Cross Society.



The nutrition conditions of 9,160 vulnerable families with approx. 45,800 beneficiaries in Western & Central Provinces #SriLanka have been significantly improved thanks to the 1st & 2nd phase of food packs donation by Red Cross Society of #China: Sri Lanka Red Cross Society completion report.
