The inaugural opening of the Sustainable Tourism Unit est w/ the support of UN Development #lka thru UN Developmentbiofin, took place this morning w/ the participation of Ms Azusa Kubota 久保田あずさ, Res Rep, @UNDP #lka & Mr Priantha Fernando, Chairman, Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority to promote sustainable practices in tourism.

Speaking at the event, Mr Priantha Fernando noted that #SriLanka needs to be positioned as a key #sustainable destination to have a competitive advantage in the global tourism industry. He highlighted the need for collective action to become the key forex-earning industry by 2027.
