Hi! I'm looking for some ideas on how to engage reluctant children, who have been identified to receive tutoring through NTP. The sessions are one hour long and three times a week. I'm trying to keep a quick pace and include mini breaks etc. Any help would be appreciated. TIA

If you are looking for a motivational and inspirational speaker, who happens to be a lovely guy, approachable and will have a lasting impact, you need @davidhyner

Grit or not grit, that is the question! In the past we've been advised not to in case anyone slips and we are liable but also been told we should grit as we are liable if someone slips?

Hi. Does anyone know if the lowest 20% of readers is purely based on ARE? In which case, you could have certain year groups with no one working below ARE or just a few. Thank you HeadteacherChat Talk for Teaching.😀

Hi. We have a child with an EHCP. We provide him 1:1 beyond what's stated. We have decided to have 2 people to support him -one AM and other PM as it was too much for the same person. Mum kicking off. Threats of not bringing him to school,Ofsted etc! Any thoughts? Talk for Teaching.😀

My SLT and I had a brilliant online session with Talk for Teaching.😀 , looking at our SEF. For those of you in the Ofsted window, he really is brilliant at helping you take control, celebrate all that the school does will and instill that all so important confidence in your team.

Good morning. Can anyone tell me how often schools will check staff's DBS? Unless on the update service, they are only accurate from the date of the check. We do all staff to complete a disclosure form twice a year but it's not a guarantee that the information is accurate. TIA

Hi. We have a child (Y3) who this week can't get to school since his mother is not well and enough to bring him and she does not drive. There is no family support and they do not live near anyone else from school. We thought of a taxi but wasn't sure. Any advice? Talk for Teaching.😀

Hi. I’m at a primary school in Manchester and taking Y5 to London for a competition. It’s 4.5hr journey. Would you allow kids to take electronic devices? It’s a long time for kids to be on front of a screen but equally a long journey. I know about possible loss and damage etc.

Good evening. I've not been a big fan of Ofsted in the past but to their credit, they were very fair and approachable during our inspection yesterday and today. We had a long wait....17 years since our last full one! Hopefully they are listening

Hi. I was wondering if any school has successfully challenged Ofsted following an inspection? I’m not looking to change the overall judgement but a grade in one of the areas. They made an areas of development comment on QE based on one 10m observation in one class Talk for Teaching.😀
