Over the last year we've found 1000s of mosquitoes all over Scotland thanks to incredible work of this *dream team* of entomologists (L-R) Dr Georgia Kirby, Meshach Lee & Rebecca Brown. Looking forward to what they'll find this summer about risk of mosquito-borne disease in 🏴

The Scottish Parliament held a debate for #LymeDiseaseAwareness last week, a disease with ⬆️ public health impact in Scotland. Thx 2 Maree Todd for also flagging our project to identify risks from #mosquitoes. They are widespread in Scotland & may increase with climate change

Congratulations Prince Chigozirim Ubiaru (Ph.D) for a very interesting pre-viva talk UofG SBOHVM on deciphering the genetic bases of #malaria parasite - #mosquito interactions. Good luck with your viva! Lisa Ranford-Cartwright Ginny Howick VectorsGlasgow

Congratulations Dr Prince Chigozirim Ubiaru (Ph.D) – well done on defending your thesis on malaria parasites in Anopheles mosquitoes, we are so proud of you! Many thanks to examiners Ken Vernick & Kasia Katarzyna_Modrzynska, & convenor Tom @tmorrison80. Lisa Ranford-Cartwright Ginny Howick VectorsGlasgow UofG SBOHVM

Fantastic PhD on malaria-vector interactions. Congratulations Dr Prince Chigozirim Ubiaru (Ph.D) !

Happy #WorldMosquitoDay! Our Anopheles coluzzii mosquito colony is still sleeping, but almost ready to celebrate 🎉 VectorsGlasgow UofG SBOHVM

🦟 Identifying malaria-carrying mosquitoes just got easier with VectorCam, developed by Dr. Soumya Acharya’s team Johns Hopkins University Johns Hopkins BME. This app instantly distinguishes between species using a smartphone, revolutionizing the fight to #EndMalaria. Gates Foundation | Bill Gates
