Three years ago, Alan Kaplan created a new addition to Princeton's intro computer science class: A precept where students explore how to use and program a Raspberry Pi, a powerful single-board computer about the size of a cell phone. Learn more: bit.ly/3RRKjLS


Learning to use a Raspberry Pi exposes Princeton Computer Science students (as well as some non-majors) to a range of foundational computer science tools. Most crucially, Raspberry Pis use the open-source operating system Linux, which is used across academia and industry.
