Monday 10 am Eastern Standard Time. One of the most important papers I have been involved with. Don’t look at the results. Read the logic of the intro and discussion and then let’s talk

Fantastic SWEDEHEART analysis in JACC Journals on the effects of a Strike Early And Strong approach using upfront dual lipid-lowering therapy with high intensity statins and ezetimibe after ACS. Spoiler: It saves lives! jacc.org/doi/10.1016/j.…

We would also like to thank the author group for referencing our European Society of Cardiology Clinical Consensus Statement on the Strike Early and Strong approach after ACS! The evidence is piling up and this should be our standard of care! Prof Kausik Ray FMedSci academic.oup.com/ehjacc/article…

Coverage so far. What I would like to see in UK and elsewhere is a polypill fixed dose statin ezetimibe combination. It’s easily available in countries like India with multiple generics but we tend to have to use two separate tablets so bill burden

I tried to run some simulation to prove the point, of course in a completely simplified context. 3 variables: ApoB, LDL, ΔNCPV (all standardized for simplicity with mean 0 and SD=1) I designed the dataset n=10,000 in a way so that a ApoB and LDL are correlated at r=0.9 and LDL

I can't reply to Tim Noakes because I'm blocked, but his comment here makes some fundamental errors about causality and ApoB that are worth addressing. Not everyone who smokes gets lung cancer. Does that mean smoking doesn't cause lung cancer? Of course not. But this same
