I had an early morning flight today. At the airport (OR Tambo) I was singled out for a full, invasive body search. Head to toe. The reason? I was wearing a doek. I asked if that was why. They said yes. This is what Muslims face every day at our airports. Not OKAY!!!

Bet these are the very same patriotic Indian uncles who clamour for the death penalty when someone from a marginalised background rapes and murders.

Our book is out and available for purchase in the U.K. Writing this book with Carolina Alves Surbhi Kesar & Ingrid H. Kvangraven was a long and arduous process that has arguably changed us all, and we’d be honoured for y’all to read it. Get it now from Polity and in bookstores!
