“While broadly welcomed by the sector, questions remain over how change will be delivered on the ground. A series of plans for the struggling health service have all promised similar shifts in recent years — yet none have achieved them” on.ft.com/4lDvadU

Is this going to end well? The first comepany ever to reach $1 trillion was Apple, and that only happened on 2nd August 2018! Now only in mid-2025, Nvidia’s already at $4 trillion, when none of the AI firms are making money ... ft.com/content/23e251… via @ft

Been thinking the same lately. Every day I get dozens of new papers and reports I’d love to read properly and file neatly. But before I get through even half, a fresh wave arrives, not to mention all the new books piling up … who should we be writing for in the future?

"Humans lost their swordsmanship & weaving skills once machines took over most fighting & weaving. Thinking & writing may go the same way. To anyone who imagines we’ll curtail AI for good of humanity: we didn’t with social media & climate change" ft.com/content/aa69e9… via @ft

Why is change so hard to deliver? "Starmer is discovering that many obstacles to delivering the meaningful change that the electorate has asked for are hidden deep in the structures of our unplanned and often ill-conceived constitutional set-up" ft.com/content/f40037… via @ft

I saw robots in hotels, shopping malls and restaurants when visiting Shenzhen (China) in May this year. In hotels it could take the lift by itself, but now tobots can take the underground to deliver products unsupervised around the city!

How sad - the end of academia as we know it! “Eventually these papers will all be written by an AI agent and then another AI agent will actually read them, analyse them and produce a summary for humans. I actually think that’s what’s going to happen.” theguardian.com/science/2025/j…

“In the west, Tesla still owns EVs, they still have a clear lead on software-defined vehicles ...China is a different situation. Tesla’s lead from a tech perspective is not nearly as clear, if there’s any lead at all.” ft.com/content/81f97f… via @ft
