📷 ISRIC - World Soil Information & LSC-IS Giulio Genova presenting the Digital Soil Mapping (DSM) seedling workflow at the 3rd joint workshop of International Union of Soil Sciences Working Groups Digital Soil Mapping & Global Soil Map in Bengaluru 🇮🇳 this week. The workflow provides guidance for generating soil maps.


As part of the LSC-IS project, ISRIC - World Soil Information collaborated with national agricultural research organisations (Rwanda Agriculture & Animal Resources Devpt Board, @KALRO, Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research-EIAR) to deliver Advanced Digital Soil Mapping (DSM) training in Rwanda, Kenya, and Ethiopia. Strengthening Climate-Smart Agriculture in Rwanda: Rwanda Agriculture & Animal Resources Devpt Board ASARECA AICCRA are developing guidelines to enhance legume & pulse productivity while integrating climate resilience strategies. This aligns w/ LSC-IS supporting Climate-Smart Agriculture in East Africa.

On 5-6 March, LSC-IS participated in the "Kenya Soil Information System Roadmap Development Workshop" hosted by Ministry of Agriculture & Livestock Development KALRO ISRIC - World Soil Information & CABI in Nairobi. WUR PhD candidate Musefa Redi, whose research contributes to the LSC-IS project, published his first PhD research paper "Mapping soil fertility properties in central Ethiopia at 100 m spatial resolution" in Geoderma - the global #OA journal of soil science. Read more: doi.org/10.1016/j.geod…


In recent months, KALRO & Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research teams, w/ ISRIC - World Soil Information & ACATECH TECHNOLOGY support, have actively worked on integrating LSC Hub into their existing systems.
