BOARD GAME BASKETBALL !!!! I figured I’d give it a try after seeing so many teachers posting “Sorry Basketball”. Take a look and a listen to the video for my set up and rules. #PhysEd

Fruit Loops Basketball Challenge with 5th grade. Dribble and put your ring on the big cone. Dribble back and balance the ball on the dome. Run and touch the big cone before the other person. Thanks Kalie Schult #physed

Nutrition Pool in #PhysEd! Students LOVED this activity! Great way to kick off our nutrition unit. Students use pool noodle to strike ball towards hoops. Hoops match MyPlate food group colors and students build MyPlate. Description in video.

Instant activity for nutrition using OPEN Phys Ed Toss 3! Quick review of food groups to get class started right away while having students interact with several classmates! Description in video. #physed

Super Mario Tag. 2 taggers. If tagged, shrink and move on knees. Spots around gym with mushroom under some of them. If small, need to walk on knees and find mushroom. If found, stand up and back in game. ⁦OlatheElemPE⁩ ⁦KAHPERD

Macronutrient match to review carbs, proteins, fats in #PhysEd. Idea from OPEN Phys Ed and modified it for nutrition. Stand back to back and on show turn and name a macronutrient. If you match tell how many calories per gram for it. If no match, play until you do.

Get Out of my House! Hoops=houses. Every s will have RPS die. S who doesn’t have home goes to s who has one and challenges them. Whoever wins says, “get out of my house!” Winner will step inside hoop, the other will go challenge someone else. KAHPERD⁩ ⁦OlatheElemPE

Hoop Spots. Thanks ⁦Coach Gelardi⁩ for the idea. Ss will kick hoop toward spots. If hoop touches or goes around one, bring spot back and reveal the #. When all spots are gone, students will take scratch paper and add other score. ⁦OlatheElemPE⁩ ⁦KAHPERD

Dribble Masters 🏀 🥷 - SS must try to dribble through the cones without getting tagged - if SS make it across they get 1 try to make a basket - if SS make a basket they grab a bean bag and go back to their team - switch taggers after 2-3 min #physed #pe #basketball

Thanks Coach Pirillo for the basketball activity “Architect” 🏀 🏰 My K-2 students had a blast dribbling to the middle to grab a cup and building something creative with their partner. #physed #pe #basketball

5th warmup with 65+ called Hunter Hawks! Thx ⁦PE Central⁩ for the idea! Goal is to switch nests (hoops) w/ another Hawk at least 20x during the warmup. Switch roles if tagged. Directions in video! #elempe #physed

Going Over the Hedge- team of Squirrels vs Chipmunks, throw “acorns” over the hedge. On freeze signal, try to clean up your acorns and put them in the hoops the fastest to win the round. #PhysEd 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 🏴‍☠️

PE Pokémon Go- Each team starts with the same number of Pokemon cards. If you knock a Pokemon off a cone or catch a ball thrown by the other team, you earn a Pokémon card. Run to the other side to get the card out of their bucket. #PhysEd

Fleet Battle This week in #physed is Star Wars week. So I took a classic & rebranded it Star Wars style. Sound on for description. The number of red, sweaty faces has been incredible!

The Dice Game Another elementary #physed teacher in my district shared this fun warm-up game. Sound on for instructions. I frame it as a students vs. me game & they absolutely love it! (They kept the energy low cuz this is gonna be my instructional video to use during class)
