I get the importance of defence engagement but it’s extraordinary that UK continues to offer the IDF a place at the prestigious Royal College of Defence Studies, following the ICC arrest warrant on former IDF Defence Minister Gallant. 🤷🏻♂️ Declassified UK declassifieduk.org/revealed-the-b…

Shaun Lintern I'm a consultant and was in this weekend keeping patients safe while residents are on strike. Good local planning, as we had, keeps patients safe without needing to request derogations. The BMA are not responsible for local management failures. Full support to the residents.

"Her character is not on trial" claims Joanna Cherry KC True but every Employment Tribunal I witnessed in 2015 including that of my wife [also then a registered nurse] *did* examine the character of the claimant. Those who do this are (usually, not exclusively) err, barristers!🧐

Shaun Lintern If the BMA is asking the trust to pay locum consultant rates, it's because they've established any safety issues are NOT unavoidable, but based on a trust refusing to pay for cover.

'Until the next time Jim'...by the way, better planning and preparation prevents piss-poor performance by your CEO executive chums. Stop blame shifting. This is on Wes Streeting who must placate Resident Doctors fast, because I bet The RCN will be joining?🧐 Mike Henley 🤨

Shaun Lintern Carrying over a hobby horse from time leading NHS Improvement (described by the Times as “the financial regulator” 🤣), where things did anything but improve, Jim should probably get over the fact that additional work = additional cost. thetimes.com/uk/healthcare/…

Shaun Lintern This strategy was spelt out by Mackey prior to the action, force trusts to press on full speed not plan, deluge derogations process, accuse the BMA of delay, safety violations and seeking cash. It’s NHSE that have driven this unacceptable placing of patients as media pawns.

Shaun Lintern But if you want consultants to do someone else’s job, on top of their own typically 44-48 hour job, you’re going to have to pay them Sherlock.

Shaun Lintern What exactly is happening with NHSE? We've gone from being told it's being axed to having Sir Jim's opinions being seen as important.
