Nearly one year to date I revisited a willow wattle wall demo my class completed last December (first photo). Live stakes are growing well (second photo), and the wall is recruiting gravel and woody debris. Beaver has also been active in the area (third photo). #workingwithnature

It was great to participate as a panelist for successful science-based partnerships CCST California Natural Resources Agency 1st Science Day, and celebrate CCST'S 35th anniversary.

It is great to have some aquifer recharge with all of this snow. The heavy weight has crushed brush (including some of my favorite manzanitas), broken branches, and toppled trees. Will need to do some cleanup to remove the newly added fuels. Yet another fire/water relationship.
