QEGS Duke of Edinburgh’s Award participants strengthen local links as they give 494 volunteering hours. Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School is delighted to share the impact that The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) participants have made locally through the Volunteering section.

Talk The Talk are coming into school on Friday 13th June 2025 to deliver their 'Talk About Communication' workshop to our Year 9 cohort. Talk The Talk’s mission is to develop students’ oracy skills and their communication confidence to support positive life interactions.

This week, we were treated to the QEGS school production of Annie, the Musical. Our talented pupils lit up the stage with fantastic singing and dancing across two wonderful performances. All their hard work and dedication during rehearsals truly paid off.

Last Friday, our Year 11 pupils celebrated their Leavers Prom at the stunning Stanley House Hotel and Spa in Mellor. The atmosphere was joyful, the outfits and venue were spectacular, and the memories made will no doubt last a lifetime. Good luck for your futures!

Five Year 9 pupils took part in the Annual Interschool Quiz hosted by Blackburn College. Annabelle Whittle (Captain), Rohan Gupta, Muhammad Shamil Patel, Marcey Ciach, and Daisy Florentine competed with determination and secured QEGS’s 3rd consecutive win! #universitychallenge

On 26th June, the Creative Faculty ran the third Creative Art Day, taking the entire Year 9 cohort on a day trip to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park — one of the UK's leading galleries & open-air exhibition spaces. A great day was had by all! #art #yorkshiresculpturepark #creativeart

Yesterday, we celebrated our annual Sports Day at our fantastic sports facilities, Harrison Playing Fields in Lammack. Pupils put on a brilliant display of athleticism — running, jumping, & cheering on their friends with great enthusiasm. Congratulations to GRENVILLE for winning!
