Rachel Oldroyd Q-Step Leeds Been lovely to hear my daughter coming home enthusiastic about recoding variables and producing tables. Today she called me to enthuse about mixed methods.

Had a really great first meeting at Thackray Museum of Medicine for my Q-Step Leeds project. Going to be doing some pre-placement research to really maximise my experience. I can hardly wait to start now! #medicalhistory #museums #research

Great to hear that the Q-Step Leeds Nuffield Foundation #summerpacement students are settled into their projects and enjoying their work #qstep #rstats

Q-Step Leeds testimonial from Liv Powell on placement at Thackray Museum of Medicine: "QStep has taught me so many new skills, from data analysis to the organisation and research skills needed to be successful working in museums"

Today is the final day of our Q-Step Leeds intern @chimpfromthezoo's placement. Jonathan's report on our data shows that whilst our #penpals try to stay involved with things, our students in particular would like more companionship or contact with others. #EndLoneliness #BeMoreUs

Writing Back Q-Step Leeds @chimpfromthezoo Lots of really interesting data there (and I love the project!). Were UG respondents drawn across different years of study? And are you able to look at the data across subject areas? Thanks in advance :)

Lydia Bleasdale Q-Step Leeds @chimpfromthezoo Hi Lydia, yes, nearly all UGs are studying English or with English degrees from across all years of study (1-4 incl years in industry/abroad - although letter writing might lapse during year out). All UGs are from School of English - University of Leeds but a few might have changed degrees.

Writing Back Q-Step Leeds @chimpfromthezoo Fascinating, thank you for this detailed response! The loneliness theme overlaps with some of what we found in our resilience study at the University; perhaps we could share findings?

Just had it pointed out to me that I am presenting at this event. So, if anyone fancies listening to a (slightly surprised) person telling you how Q-Step Leeds helped me find an amazing career (quite true), do come along.

There are still places available at this event on Friday, organised by @LeedsUniBSchool and Q-Step Leeds yorkshire-business.co.uk/article/leeds-…
