We live free in The World’s Borough because of our heroes in uniform who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of that freedom. On this #MemorialDay, let’s all take a moment to thank the veterans in our lives for their service. And let’s remember those who never came home.

The Little Neck-Douglaston Memorial Day Parade is the biggest such parade in the country. But it’s also the one that most looks like the nation our heroes fought and died to defend. Great to see so many of you along the route yesterday. As one borough, we salute all who served.

“Graduates, my advice to you today is to keep an open mind. Understand that even if the path your life takes is not the one you envisioned, it’s okay to not know where your road will lead. But when you walk across the stage today, I want you to embrace the prize you have earned.”

To the Queensborough | CUNY and Queens College | The City University of New York Classes of 2025, Queens couldn’t possibly be more proud of you as you graduate today. What you’ve overcome and achieved to earn your diploma has not gone unseen. And neither will all you’ll overcome and achieve going forward. Congrats, grads!
