As I’ve already condemned Timms’ lack of empathy, to add—speaking as a senior clinician—it’s impossible for him to make blanket assumptions about ‘people like yourselves’ being able to work. This rhetoric fuels shame, isolation, and the belief that not working means failure.

For me, PIP allows me to pay for things like my wheelchair, run that wheelchair & cover medical expenses as well as rent my car, which in turn allows me to work. I do everything the government claims the cuts will help people to do, but know if mine is cut I'll have to stop work
