CLIFTON PARK MUSEUM. These simple mobiles rotate in the breeze, merging old exhibits with modern-day faces in constant reinvention. Some of the combos make me smile, like this young kid with an old chin.

CLIFTON PARK MUSEUM: When planning an exhibition there are inevitably some ideas that hit the cutting room floor. Sadly, "the poster that you colour in, then hold up yourself" never made it into the final selection, though I've no idea why! "There's more to me than what you see?"

CLIFTON PARK MUSEUM Our exhibition is all about identity so we're looking at how attitudes have changed. To illustrate this, we're comparing vintage Barbie to her modern counterparts: plus size, Down syndrome, prosthetic Ken, etc. Huge respect to Mattel for offering 35 skin tones

PONTEFRACT: Spent a very funny day making rabbits. We've been hosting perky little workshops at Aspire for the past 3 years. It is an absolute joy. Karen and her team are brilliant. We've done birds, pirates, space, art, horse racing, spies, town planning and a remote control rat

When my car broke down, I went to find help, up a long & winding road. The first place I came to was.. a castle! Was I in a novel? On some dark & stormy night? The staff at Allerton Castle were charming, friendly & kind - and no-one was murdered, in the pantry, by a candlestick.

In the past, male artists were named, paid & got all the credit. The anonymous, passive muse had no voice. CLIFTON PARK MUSEUM. Nice to see our posters so perky. When I walk through the park, which is often, I keep seeing flashes of pink through the trees. Sometimes it's blossom, sometimes it's us.

YORK. Proud of all my theatre design students, for turning Beth's fine illustrations into three-dimensional theatre.

SKIPTON. Popped into @phoebesskipton, home of the best breakfast in Yorkshire (other meals are available), bought a sourdough loaf that was the size of a seal, then walked through Castle Woods, where I watched a daft dog and some comedy ducks. A great day and it's not even lunch.

YORK. Really proud of my theatre design students, for creating a great looking set, using cardboard they found in the skip.

ROTHERHAM. An absolutely brilliant day, creating art at Rotherham Pride. All sorts of people. All getting on.

SHERBURN. I did a little pencil sketch of the library, where I host my writers group. I may look modest, but every week, we fill it with planets, villains, femme fatales, giant gnomes and 'gang boss' grannies. Two hours of absolute joy.

SHERBURN IN ELMET. I did a pencil sketch of the Old Girls School, a community centre at the centre of a community. I attended one of their 'free soup' events, as part of the Now Then! project, that I'm working on for the Arts Council. Came as a stranger, left as a friend.

There is a cafe that sells home-made crumpets that look like the moon. If you order one with an egg on top, the yolk is as gold as the sun. And there you have it, the whole sky, on a plate. Part of the Now Then! project, that celebrates the extraordinary lives of ordinary people.

YORK. Two years and forty shows later, my theatre design students are flying the coup, and wow, were they good. Gives you faith in the future.

SHERBURN IN ELMET. I'm not the kind of artist who rolls up and says, "Where d'you want your art?" I embed myself in the community, then, when I've earned my place in it, ask, "How can I help?" I've met some wonderful people in Sherburn village. Here are just a few.. North Yorkshire Council
