Protector RG Mk1, the first Remotely Piloted Air System cleared to fly in UK airspace, has reached a major milestone in its test programme. Remotely piloted from RAF Waddington, it can fly up to 40,000ft for 30+ hours. A cutting-edge capability, enabled by outstanding RAF teams.

OTD - 15th May 1945, the two Australian Lancaster Sqns at RAF Waddington flew their last “Op Exodus” sorties. Since 26th April, the Lancasters had been ferrying Allied POWs from Europe back to bases in England: approximately 2,500 POWs were repatriated by Waddington aircraft.
