What would you add? The Powerful Gift of #Bilingualism/#Multilingualism Some emergent bilinguals feel embarrassed or less than for acquiring a new language. BUT they shouldn’t. They are our future global leaders! Let them know how special & important this human capital is.

When monolingual students learn to read, they encounter phonics instruction with words they are likely familiar with. The same is not necessarily true for young multilingual learners. Specialized #multilingualsupport is necessary with vocabulary through authentic instruction.
