Would you like to see our trip to "The Big Tree" in Chirinda Forest? Have a look at our video. This is the tallest indigenous tree in Zimbabwe. It is a national monument. The tree is 65 meters tall and 4.5 meters wide. It is approximately 1,000 years old.

Yesterday, Refugee Coalition for Climate Action (RCCA) facilitated a tree-planting session in the Tongogara Refugee Settlement ahead of the Male Engagement Symposium organized by Zimbabwe Gender Commission. Issues addressed included GBV drivers, positive masculinity, and support for grassroots action for gender equality.

Yesterday Tongogara Refugee Settlement had the privilege of hosting the first ever Male Engagement Symposium supported by the Zimbabwe Gender Commission under the theme "Accelerating Male Involvement in Gender Equality Issues." Over 500 men and women attended the event.

On #AfricaDay, remember Africa makes less than 4% of global emissions but faces some of the worst climate effects. Nearly 60% of people depend on farming and natural resources to survive. On #WorldRefugeeDay2025, solidarity for refugees means working with organizations led by forcibly displaced people. Thanks to the support from UNHCR Zimbabwe through UNHCR Innovation, Refugee Coalition for Climate Action (RCCA) is a key partner in an innovative live-fencing project around our farming areas.

Ahead of #WorldRefugeeDay2025 celebrations in TRS, Refugee Coalition for Climate Action (RCCA) facilitated a tree planting session at the Settlement's Infant School. Five trees (Kenyan Croton, Neem) were planted by the guest of honour and dignitaries from Ministry of Public Service Labour & Social Welfare, Provincial Affairs, UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency , and World Food Programme

We marked the World Refugee Day with refreshing speeches from Refugee-led organisations and Community Leaders. In line with localisation of humanitarian action agenda, RLOs managed to deliver solidarity message. Interestingly, all the speeches were delivered by refugee youths.

Refugees bring with them skills, potential and talent. Tongogara Refugee Sports Organisation is a multi-disciplinary convener of sporting talent. With support from the government, sports regulatory bodies, Tambai Zimbabwe and UNHCR, refugees excel in sport.#SolidaritywithRefugees
