One of the most iconic sculptures ever. This one portion has been photographed millions of times. The hand impression into her thigh is astounding to everyone, but what is the story behind the famous sculpture. The Rapimento di Proserpina by Bernini is based on the Latin myth

Matthew Mott says: “The heat was more than we bargained for.” England have been in India for almost a month, and the forecast for Mumbai is pretty consistent. Not sure that reasoning will cut it with understandably hopeful England fans.

THANK YOU to the thousands of people in London who came out in droves to show their support for Israelis and the innocent civilians being held hostage by Hamas. Bring Them Home 🇮🇱🇬🇧

The casualties in Gaza are devastating to see. And I am a lifelong supporter of a two-state solution. But those calling for an unconditional ceasefire must explain how Israel is (a) to prevent Hamas from simply reloading and going again, as it always does; (b) rescuing the >200

England are basically out of this tournament so they’ve picked: Stokes, who is due to have an operation on his knee Willey, who has retired from international cricket and Wood, who has gone round the park instead of: Brook, Curran and Atkinson. Yup, me neither.

In 2019, Notre-Dame burned down, and Hammersmith Bridge was shut to cars due to cracks. Today, Notre-Dame reopens, even more glorious than before. Meanwhile, Hammersmith Bridge remains shut to cars and will be for at least another 5yrs. What a pathetic testament to Britain’s

This is indeed one of the big worries about the timing: conventional political wisdom suggests social care reform needs to be done at the start of a Parliament, not the end. Definitely a risk the politicians baulk in 2028 with an Election in sight.

I spoke with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The United Kingdom’s role in fortifying Europe’s defense and security is important for us. We discussed upcoming plans and opportunities. UK’s support matters indeed, and we will never forget the respect the British people have shown
