Congrats to grad student Allison Tobar for winning a Best Poster Award for her poster “Campus sexual assault email alerts: Do students find them helpful?” presented at VT Psychology’s inaugural DEI Poster Session! 🎉🎉🎉

THE BIGGEST CONGRATS to Research for Alcohol and Couples Health 2nd-year PhD student TJ Shaw for successfully defending his thesis today! 🥳 VT Psychology Virginia Tech Science

Research for Alcohol and Couples Health 2nd-yr PhD student Allison Tobar and PI Meagan J Brem, PhD represented VT Psychology at today’s Virginia Tech Sexual Violence Prevention Initiative Summit! We loved seeing all of our fellow Hokies against sexual and dating violence during Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

REACH Lab undergrad research assistants Jacob Holloway & Zachary Hubshman crushed their presentations at Virginia Tech’s Dennis Dean Undergraduate Research & Creative Scholarship Symposium! Shout out to their grad mentor Allison Tobar for providing exceptional mentorship!

Thrilled to share that our ISTSS Student Section sponsored symposium on preparing successful trainee-focused grants (Fs, Ks, and VA CDAs) was accepted by ISTSS. Hope you will join Meagan J Brem, PhD, Kelly Harper, Dr. Eve Rosenfeld, @mjzielinski_phd, and I for a fun panel in September!

Better late than never! Super proud of Research for Alcohol and Couples Health PhD student Allison Tobar for an exceptional presentation of our team’s data on the feasibility of integrating portable breathalyzers with EMA to capture alcohol-related intimate partner violence at RSAEducation!

❤️ this team! Also, the night that our new project coordinator Emily Sjafii dared to try pineapple + jalapeño pizza 🔥
