PhD Leyre Castillejo presented her poster on older adults, showing that higher Brevican levels were associated with higher depression scores 🫥 in men, while lower Serum Brevican levels were linked to more friendships🩵. #Neuroscience #Aging #Brevican #Depression #SocialIsolation

Continuing with posters, PhD Juan Grec shared results on the effectiveness of our psychosocial program in reducing loneliness 🫂. The treatment helped participants reduce depression and family loneliness symptoms 👏. #Neuroscience #Loneliness #PsychosocialProgram #Depression

Additionally, social and emotional loneliness were linked to higher cortisol output post-awakening in men. The BDNF Val/Met polymorphism was associated with cortisol levels at bedtime, with Val/Val showing the highest levels. #Loneliness #Cortisol #BDNF #SocialIsolation
