I'm back from my maternity leave, after welcoming our beautiful son Samuel in October!❤️ In the meantime, Sieze Douwenga and Herwig Bachmann finished our story on the physiology of Lactococcus lactis cells in stationary phase. Happy to share it with you! frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…

My research is highlighted by #ECRinFocus from Trends in Microbiology! Have a look at the thread to read more about defined consortia for industrial biotechnology and how water-in-oil emulsions can help.

Excited to start a new project on evolving microbial communities for food and biotech applications with great partners Rinke van Tatenhove-Pel Otto X. Cordero 👇

Super happy that the ENW-M2 proposal of Robert Mans, J.M. Daran and me is granted! In the E4Y project we will Engineer and Evolve Energetic Efficiency in Yeast, to better understand the relationship between energetic efficiency and growth rate. I am really looking forward to it!

Looking forward to this meeting, where me and my Industrial Microbiology - TU Delft colleague Djordje (Djordje Bajić) will both speak!
