Thrilled to receive the promotion to full professor and a Colonel Allen R. and Margaret G. Crow Term Professorship at UF Chemistry! I am extremely grateful for my family, students, colleagues, and collaborators!

Our new Dept Chair is Prof. Ron Castellano! He is a phys. org. chemist who came to UF Chemistry in '02 after earning a PhD from MIT and pursuing a postdoc at ETH ZĂĽrich. Ronald K. Castellano has a big to-do list, incl. telling the world about the great things happening here. Stay tuned!



Congratulations to three UF Chemistry faculty members who were awarded named professorships through the generosity of several donors (thank you!). First up, Professor and Chair Ronald K. .UF Chemistry has 3 new assistant profs joining us this year! First intro is Prof. Kaibo Feng. Kaibo received his Ph.D. University of Illinois with WhiteGroup and completed a postdoc with Buchwald MIT Chemistry. The group will develop reactions using transition-metal and organocatalysts


Next assistant prof UF Chemistry to introduce is Prof. Feng Tang. Feng completed his PhD at Wuhan Univ. Wuhan University with Bi-Feng Yuan and postdoc UC Riverside with Yinsheng Wang. The Tanglab leverages mass spectrometry and next-gen seq techs to study DNA damage and repair ...


I had an amazing experience to present my graduate research work on “OPV-materials inspired visible-light-driven photoswitching molecules” at the International Symposium of Novel Aromatic Compounds (ISNA), 2024, in Toronto! A hub for organic materials chemistry! Castellano Research Group


Last but not least! Our 3rd new assistant prof. intro is for Prof. Amal Narayanan. Amal received his Ph.D. under the supervision of Abraham Joy @JoylabUAkron and was an #HHMI-LSRF postdoc with Cliff Brangwynne brangwynnelab Princeton University. Welcome to UF Chemistry! Amal Narayanan
