A huge and special day for the lab. Nicholas Peterson accomplished so much as an UMass Chan MD/PhD Program student, culminating in the Chancellor’s award for the top medical student in his class. He is bound for astronomical success as a physician-scientist. I am beyond proud #UMassChan2024

SARM - an enzymatic TIR protein. Perhaps the most ancient immune regulator in the Tree of Life and the origins of innate immunity itself. But, is it an immune sensor in animals?

Excited to share our recent review out in Nature Rev Immunol . We discuss mechanisms that identify patterns of pathogenesis -- specific ligands or symptoms in the host that indicate active infection with an infectious microorganism. UMass Chan Medical School
