Still coming down from the high that is another amazing OpenFarmSunday. Welcoming ~950 people onto the farm & seeing them so enthused & inspired by nature friendly farming is truly the best day of the year. HUGE thanks to all involved to pull it off!

It's a warm night tonight, so good opportunity to stick the moth trap out before our visit with Operation Turtle Dove tomorrow!

Harvest paused for a few days thanks to some much needed rain... Meanwhile we enjoyed a wonderful summers evening with the Cambridge Bird Club walking around the farm. Nice spots of grey partridge, yellowhammer and kestrel too. Thanks Duerden Cormack !

After talking about never having moisture to grow cover crops in our part of the world, we now have covers in and romping away in this weather. Rain could have come earlier but not complaining now! Not a bad year to make the most of the solar panel in the sky Oakbank Game

Digging holes again this autumn to keep on top of soil monitoring and track progress. So varied across fields but some signs of life coming back after a bit of rain! #fungi #symbiosis #soillife Soilmentor

An exciting find here this week was Callicera spinolae, the Golden Hoverfly! This is a rare Ivy specialist restricted to East Anglia so we had been hoping it might turn up. Ivy is so important for pollinators at this time of year Steven Falk Farm Wildlife

It was great to see a passage Spotted Flycatcher on the farm this week! Cambs Bird Club

Great to be here in the sunshine (and showers) the Agroforestry Show with Operation Turtle Dove Sophie was talking about agroforestry and nature at 12, and we're here all day and tomorrow Soil Association
