Although we’ve had grey seal pups born on Ramsey almost every month of the year, it was a nice Easter surprise to see this pup on the east coast today!

Always a treat to see the Chough doing their nightly sky dance before going into roost. Volume up to hear their calls 🐦‍⬛!

Since 2016 at least 6 live rats, 7 dead rats & 1 live mink have been discovered on UK seabird islands. 1 rat was seen jumping ashore from a boat, 2 boats found rodent sign onboard and 18 suspicious signs were found on island. The risk to seabird islands is very real & ongoing...

Exciting news! We have 23 Manx Shearwaters incubating eggs in our study plot. This is the first time that we’ve had more than 17 eggs laid within the artificial nest chambers #seabirds

It’s been a busy few weeks for the Chough with 6 pairs fledgling 17 young & more pairs still feeding at the nest. We’ve had a total of 12 pairs on territory this year which is the most we have ever had!

An incredible spot by West Coast Birdwatching now on BlueSky yesterday during one of our monitoring trips on Grassholm of a leucitic gannet chick! We are super intrigued to see how this chick turns out as it start to develop feathers 🪶.

It is with great sadness that we learnt of the passing of Ian Bullock. Ian was Ramsey Site Manager for 10 years, and the driving force behind the rat eradication project in 1999 which resulted in the subsequent seabird recovery. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time
