Around 2200 Fieldfare roosted at RSPB Strumpshaw Fen this evening! Spectacular watching them dive into the bushes to the backdrop of a bright red sunset, booming Bittern and bugling Crane. 😍

Enjoy this months recent sightings blog. Written by Guide in the Hide Sean Locke. It might have been cold but the month has been full of Spring arrivals, first's for the reserve and so much more. Its defiantly worth wrapping up and getting outside. community.rspb.org.uk/placestovisit/…

Not so lucky with the weather today, the sun shone briefly at lunchtime and two swallowtails were spotted on the Flag Iris in front of the hide. Come on sun....show yourself again tomorrow!
