New publication by Rutgers researcher Dr. Joyce Ong shows that whale sharks can be aged using annual bands in their vertebrae by using the radiocarbon signature left over from Cold War bomb testing. They validated the ages of whale sharks up to 50 years! frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…
