Duncan is the first person to have a hip replacement and go home on the same day at South Tees Hospitals, meaning he was able to recover in his own home immediately after surgery. Due to their new initiative, Duncan will be the first of many hip replacement day cases. Great work!

Surgery’s Tea Trolley Teaching focused on the health and wellbeing of our staff today. Highlighting the support available from GEHSWFTwellbeing, as well as the trust PNAs and their role. Refreshments, resources and some time out to prioritise our staff!

Surgery’s educational tea trolley is around the hospital today in collaboration with George Eliot Critical Care - reviewing the Outreach scope and how we can support our patients. Covering SBAR handovers and vein finders along with the new one call for all process for emergencies!

A huge surprise for Practice Facilitator Beth Jervis as she was presented with a Cavell Star award by Natalie G - RN 💙. In recognition of going over and above to ensure a patient with learning difficulties got the care they needed, while also helping other members of staff.
