V niche research question for the #Surrealism Twitter-sphere (before it all callopses) Does anyone know where I can find an English translation of #ClaudeCahun's text 'Prenez garde aux objets domestiques'? It was originally published in Cahiers d'Art, 1936, NΒ°1-2. (Beauty below)

Itching to write about Carolee Schneemann's intimate and engrossing Life Books but have also realised that this would require a trip to her archives in LA and New York. What. A. Shame.

πŸͺ„Last chance to order before we rest up! We will be closing orders this Friday (9 Dec) for the festive break. We'll still be on social media, but we'll be back in 2024 with some exciting plans for the future of The Debutante. Issue 04 is on our agenda. 🌟

Madeline of France’s portrait as a child is on show – the youngest ever depiction of her! She became Queen of Scots in 1537 when she married James V at 16 years old. Upon arriving in Scotland, she only lived for 2 months, hence why she is sometimes known as the β€œSummer Queen”.

'The Truth About Comets' by Dorothea Tanning (1945). πŸ’« Thinking about sirens in surrealism and rekindling undergrad research in some shape or form...Especially drawn to this gorgoeus image because of the snow in Edinburgh today.

Aw, years ago I was reading Maggie Nelson's 'The Argonauts' on the train from Edi to LDN and someone next to me pulled out the same book from their bag. We ended up not reading at all and chatted throughout the journey (in the quiet carriage, whoops). It was quite lovely.

'β€˜My hope is that the viewer will have an urge to reach out and stroke the surface of the painting, or imagine what it might be like to exist within the work’' A super profile by Rachel Ashenden on TopDollaNell's fantastically strange & evocative works on Lucy Writers' Platform today
