The The Access Project is looking for more volunteers to help tutor their growing numbers of students age 14-16 as they head towards tertiary education for an hour a week online. Can you help? bit.ly/4eJTvvZ

Really interesting comments from Wes Streeting on managers. I think the answer to his query is that the system is excessively managed, with far to many targets/demands from NHSE/DHSC/ministers, but that there is insufficient management/analytical capacity in hospitals and ICBs

GCSE exams are over and we hope this year's cohort are proud of their hard work! Why not do something amazing and help a student from a disadvantaged background to reach their potential next year? Join The Access Project as a volunteer tutor: bit.ly/3VKLmP4

Hope for the future a common topic today. It was lovely to do my weekly The Access Project tutorial earlier this week and for my tutee to tell me they got a 9 in their mocks and one of the best scores in their year ✨⭐️. She will go far!

First time I’d heard this quote in James Titcombe HSJ briefing today. Couldn’t agree more. In my world of performance, I try to not follow the typical course of “scary meeting with the DoP & now I must do x/y/z”. I sometimes wonder if it makes me seem weak, but it tends to work!

What a lovely week! Hating feeling like I don’t know anyone or “how to get stuff done”, but that’s been more than offset by the sheer welcoming nature of everyone I’ve met (ahem - the North) and the potential of the work to do. I’ve even decided to come back next week too.
