I'm so, so grateful that I had the privilege of knowing this wonderful human. There will never be anyone else quite like Brett and that makes my heart hurt more than I can say.

Heartbroken to share this news about my indomitable friend Brett. King of fun, chief stirrer of trouble & the most relentless agitator wanting to change the kidney world for the better. He wouldn’t approve of too much sadness but please raise a glass or build some Lego for him ❤️

Worked with a great team at the kidney kitchen today. Made some tasty African Caribbean dishes which patients can enjoy cooking with friends and family. Thank you Deborah and the team Kidney Care UK @kidneycareuk.bsky.social

So very sad to hear about Brett. I met him a few times and worked with him on a shared care course in Wales. A great role model for other young people living his life despite being on dialysis. He made a difference and changed attitudes, a legacy to be extremely proud of.

A really important comment about balancing the risk of Covid against the benefits of going out and about and doing things that support your mental health. #CovidQuestionTime

.Nick Inston’s talk on the current #ESKD landscape on patient centric treatment examined the big questions on life, quality of life, and death. ‘Patients are individuals with the common theme of #renal replacement therapy. Clinical priorities DO NOT equal personal priorities.’

It is critical that the escalating utility bill situation for people on #homedialysis is addressed immediately by the gov’t. It would be devastating to QoL and even more expensive to the NHS for people to return to in-centre dialysis against their wishes due to their bills

I am v proud that my work with Quanta Dialysis Technologies to promote #patientchoice & improve equity of access to #homedialysis plus the Kidney Care UK @kidneycareuk.bsky.social "Priced Out of Existence" campaign, have led to a Westminster Hall debate on Improving Dialysis Outcomes tomorrow at 3pm, please do watch & share

#dialysis outcomes debate ongoing. Acute Kidney Injury can lead to kidney failure and is preventable in some cases - avoiding the need for dialysis is 🔑

Thank you Jim Shannon MP for your fantastic advocacy on behalf of #dialysis patients at Westminster Hall today, raising really important issues to government we are very grateful #homedialysis #CostOfLivingCrisis
