Hugely proud of Ben Fletcher-Harris and his amazing colleagues The University of Edinburgh who developed a new glossary of #computing signs in #BSL to empower #Deaf people working in (or learning about) #tech to discuss it in their own language. A richly deserved award. Congratulations! 👋🏻👋🏻 #BDA2023

SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS!!! The AMAZING Dr Audrey Cameron, a Deaf Chemist, is coming to Cork to do a science show for deaf adults. She'll be doing it in BSL but we have our own Senan Dunne doing BSL-ISL interpreting. Do not miss this! It Dr Audrey Cameron, OBE, HonFRSC. Kindly supported by @scienceirel.

Scottish Government Report: All learners matter. See section 5.2.17 gov.scot/publications/l… BDA Scotland well done. This signals a change in Scottish Government policy supporting linguistic rights of deaf children, wherever they live.

Every child deserves support. We can't overlook those wrongly diagnosed or left out. Let's ensure access to BSL lessons, but also consider other solutions for non-English speakers. #InclusiveSupport Watch the full video here: buff.ly/3NhD7Gb

Thank you to the FLAAG Families (Families failed by Lothian Audiology Action Group) who have bravely fought negligence and incompetence at the top. Their efforts to expose the scandal at the paediatric audiology unit of NHS Lothian is admirable and an example to us all.

Such a special assembly for our deaf pupils. Proud to have Mr Tumaini Ngajilo who has travelled all the way from Pomerini School in Tanzania to spend the week at St Roch’s. Our pupils were so inspired.
