Very happy to share that our article is now published in Virus Evolution ! 😀 We used experimental evolution to study how the SARS-CoV-2 Spike adapts to different human cell types. Congrats to first author Marc Carrascosa 👏🏻 and thanks Sanjuan Lab 🙏🏻 academic.oup.com/ve/article/doi…

Congrats Claudia Soriano-Tordera for your presentation at the SEV Virología congress in Santiago de Compostela, talking about pig severe acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus!

Great talk of our Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions postdoc Jérémy Dufloo at the SEV Virología congress about viral entry determinants!

Nice to meet my former PhD student JuanVicente Bou in Osaka after the fantastic Awaji International Forum on Infection and Immunity, held this year in Kyoto. Thank you Keizo Tomonaga for the invitation and the great organisation! Thanks JuanVicente Bou for the city tour!

Sharing our work on the fitness implications of syncytia induction at the fantastic Virus Evolution Jacques Monod meeting. Thanks Marc Carrascosa for the poster!

Great Jacques Monod Conference “Virus evolution: the mutualism-antagonism continuum of virus-virus interactions” organized by Paul Turner Lab and Yannis Michalakis in Roscoff, Brittany (France). Thanks Paul and Yannis!

In the virology master Máster Virología Universitat de València at Universitat València, students have made a competition between hypotheses to explain the existence of multipartite viruses. The multicellular lifestyle hypothesis won, followed by genome formula driven regulation of gene expression.

To get 2025 off to a good start, I'm delighted to share with you our study published today in Nature Microbiology 🎉 We studied the ability of the receptor-binding proteins (RBP) of >100 animal viruses to mediate entry into human cells. A short thread below. nature.com/articles/s4156…
