Our octopus are capable of tracking the 24 hour day cycle which means that they know when it is time to get fed, and they often sit on the glass like this. Its an octopus' version of begging for a treat! #octopus #funfact

Octopus use their beaks to break open crab's shells before sucking up the meat. Since they don't eat the shells, we remove the debris everyday. Sometimes our octos think we are trying to steal their food and attack the net #funfact #octopus

With all the crazy weather in Chicago, getting our animals live food was a challenge. When pressed they will eat frozen shrimp, but we must trick them into thinking it is still alive. BUT today we got in a new order of crabs, which made some octopuses very happy 🐙🦀 #octopus

Happy March! This year is marching along, but our animals have mostly been munching along. To date they have eaten about 600 crabs so far in 2021 🦀

Our octos can get creative when curling into hiding places. This octo is using the corner of the clear glass tank as part of its protection! #octopus

Happy April! April showers bring May flowers, but mostly our octopus are hoping they bring more crabs and shrimp 🦐🦀

Happy May! Its a month of holidays: Star Wars day, Cinco de Mayo, Mothers Day, Memorial Day. Good thing we have this octopus calendar around to help us keep track 🐙📅

Happy June! Halfway through the year, we all need to take a big stretch and believe we got this. Thanks to Ghost for reminding us to reach for the stars, or giant floating giraffes 🐙📅
