The Raiders (17-2) host the Charlotte Orioles on Senior Night! Come join us celebrate the great careers of Evan, Dominic, Keaton, Chris and Levi for their last regular season home game. Festivities will get underway prior to tonight’s 7pm tip.

Portland (18-2) defeated Charlotte 60-40 on Senior Night at PHS. Seniors Evan Gross and Dom Novara lead the way with 12 each, while Senior Chris Battley and Juniors Kayden Dickerson and Tej Virk all poured in 10. Up next is a trip to Lansing Sexton on Fri for the league title!

The Raiders are conference champs! In an unreal high school basketball game, Portland defeated Lansing Sexton 61-59 in OT at JW Sexton High. Senior Chris Battley and Junior Tej Virk lead the way with 16 each, while Senior Dom Novara and Junior Kayden Dickerson added 10 apiece.

Conf Championship Post-Game Vibes

It’s not quite March but let the madness begin! We have post-season hoops tonight with a pair of District semi-final games at PHS. The Raiders (19-2) will take the floor for a 5:30 tip vs St Johns. Ionia and Belding will follow at 7pm. Lets Go!!

Survive and advance. It wasn’t always pretty, but the Raiders prevail over St Johns, 35-33, on Junior Kayden Dickerson’s put back at the buzzer. Dickerson lead the Raiders with 15, while Senior Evan Gross added 10. The Raiders move on to the finals to face Ionia on Fri at 7pm.

The Portland Raiders (20-2) will play for their first District Championship since 2017 when they face rival Ionia (14-9) at 7pm tonight at Portland High School! The winner will advance to Tuesday’s Regional semi-final, hosted by Central Montcalm High School.

District Champs! Portland defeated Ionia 57-53 for their first District title since 2017. Junior Kayden Dickerson lead the way with 19 pts while Senior Evan Gross added 18 and Senior Dom Novara chipped in 10 pts. The Raiders will move on to the Regionals at Central Montcalm.

For the first time in 50 years, the Raiders have secured a League and District title! Job well done, fellas. The Regionals are set to kick off at Central Montcalm HS on Tuesday evening. Here are your matchups: Portland vs Flint Hamady | 7pm Freeland vs Frankenmuth | 5:30pm

We’re heading to the Regional Finals! Portland (22-2) took down Flint Hamady 48-46 to advance to face Freeland on Thursday night. Junior Kayden Dickerson paced the attack with 12, Senior Chris Battley had 10, Senior Evan Gross added 9 and Senior Dom Novara chipped in 7.

178 teams started the tournament in Div. 2 and we’re down to 16. The Regional Final is set! The Portland Raiders (22-2) will take on the Freeland Falcons (21-3) on Thu night at 7pm at Central Montcalm HS. The Raiders are looking for their first regional since 1951. Let’s go!

As they say, all good things must come to an end. Portland’s dream season concluded, 69-49, to Freeland in the Regional Finals. The 4-year Varsity trio of Dom Novara (12), Evan Gross (10), and Chris Battley (9) lead the way and fought until the end. What a season, gents!

The Raiders celebrated their 22-3, league and district championship season at their year-end banquet. Senior Evan Gross and Junior Kayden Dickerson both took home unanimous all-conference honors. Junior Tej Virk earned Honorable Mention in the CAAC White.

Senior Evan Gross took home team MVP honors, while Junior Owen Moore was named top defensive performer. Junior Tej Virk took home Most Improved while Senior Levi Nobis won the Coaches Award.

Thank you fellas for a history-making season and one we won’t forget!
