Civil and environmental engineering students representing RailTEC, UIUC chapter of AREMA, and Illini Rail Club shared their passion for rail engineering design and railroad operations at the 102nd Engineering Open House on April 5-6 at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign hosted 25 teens who participated in activities guided by RailTEC grad students. Teens operated a train simulator, built a mini ballasted track, and visited the Monticello Railway Museum where they experienced real-life rail operations.
