Delighted to award a grant to Hampshire Community Rail Partnership for works to reinstate the windows to this old pump house at #CrewkerneStation for community use. Bringing life back to historic railway buildings is what our grants are about. A photo of now and back in the day.

Great to present at Open Faversham tonight as part of their railway200 themed event, focusing on the derelict engine sheds. 1574 built Guildhall was a perfect location to host.

I went to Poppleton Railway Nursery near York this morning to stock up on bedding plants. Do visit and support this unique charity and piece of railway heritage which has its own two-foot narrow gauge railway and a model railway of itself. It moved to Poppleton in 1941.

Allan Lewis was the only former GWR employee to win the VC, but the company did not recognise him as he had volunteered to fight rather than waiting to be called up. He is not even recorded on the GWR Rolls of Honour. Happily today's GWR give him the recognition he deserves
