Youth soccer preseason is coming. Which means many coaches will run kids to death with endless fitness tests (it's atrocious here in Florida!), waste precious time running running running, rather than going over tactics and formations, and worse yet, this will increase fatigue

I have yet to see an athlete โ€œtrain on their ownโ€ at the local gym and actually see any measurable improvement over any period of time. Especially during the summer, the athletes who miss sessions never improve and often regress. Programming and environment matters!

More people (especially coaches) need to understand this. Donโ€™t do things for the sake of doing them or bc it is what you did 30 yrs ago. Crawling, Carry variations & some unilateral work>crunches/Russian twists

If you are a High school athlete that canโ€™t make time to get to the weight roomโ€ฆ I hope you donโ€™t plan on playing at the next level, because trust me you will be training year round. Even on game-days๐Ÿ‘€

Iโ€™m not sure who still needs to hear this butโ€ฆ Low Rep Sets create LESS fatigue and soreness than High Rep sets. By doing โ€œLight Weight High Repsโ€ in-season, you get weaker and more fatigued athletes.
