Considering the proficiency test were replaced with four more timely end-of-course exams and all 11th graders take the ACT allowing HS’s to address shortcomings in senior year, not surprising more students are graduating with fewer needing remedial courses in college.

Given classroom overcrowding & U.S. Census projecting 250,000 + students in next 10 years; what sense does a NV moratorium on charters make?

Dr. Randy Kirner (@randykirner) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Public Charter Schools have significantly better success than traditional public schools (TPS). Why on earth would we put such a moratorium on greater success when TPS are overcrowded and class sizes are out of control. Where has common sense gone?

Could it be that the bill makes no sense, OR could it be all 7 items proposed in the amendment are already in play and no need for a “pause’” OR could it be charter school parents vote too.

Disappointed I could not continue the work we were doing to ensure equitable access to high quality education, as well as the accountability work we were doing with low performing schools. Nevertheless, the SPCSA is in good hands with current Board, Dir. Feiden & staff

Pres. Johnson- you have and are doing a tremendous job at UNR. I have watched UNR as a local businessman and State Legislator grow and prosper under your leadership. Wishing u the best.

I agree too with u Steve. It was my bill in 2013 but failed. Was pleased to see Gov Sandavol pick it up as part of his education reform in 2015. Disappointed it was watered down this last session. We learn to ready by 3rd grade and read to learn beyond. So very important.

I had lunch the other day with former speaker and current Assemblyman John Hambrick. This is his first holiday without his beloved Nancy after 53 years of marriage. I am pleased to report he is doing well and looking forward to visiting his daughter for Christmas.

The serendipity of it all, seeing Sean Whaley on the trail again. At least today, he doesn’t look like a terrorist-in-training. #Distancing.

It’s very humble inside. Had several dinners after the property was sold to Gavin Herbert, former Chairman of Allergan. Beautiful views.
