Today’s conference in Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 reflected great solidarity with the Sahel and Lake Chad region. With thanks to KSrelief & OIC the more than $1 billion pledged will save lives & further resilience of forcibly displaced people and their hosts.

Today I met some of the 500 Sudanese refugees who arrive daily in the Chadian town of Adre. 61,000 have arrived in Chad since the beginning of the month. 223,000 since the beginning of the year. 700,000 since the start of the conflict. A tragedy which a ceasefire could stop.

"The real solution is peace," says Raouf Mazou on Sudan’s crisis. With millions displaced and critical needs unmet, he urges the global community to take action and to bring hope back to Sudan.

Today in Renk, I met a Sudanese father, husband and lawyer. As always, conflict bleeds countries of their children, talents, professionals and future… He now hopes to build a better future for his family in South Sudan.

🎤 At #HNPW2025, UN Development, IOM - UN Migration 🇺🇳 and UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency unite as #SolutionsChampions to tackle internal displacement. 🤝 By working with governments on responses and supporting communities, we can lift millions out of crisis.

In Baoro, Central African Republic, I discussed with returnees both challenges and opportunities. Some 670,000, over 10 percent of the country's population, are still in exile. Their return requires security but also support for them to rebuild their lives.
