Superb w/end at Sella cultural fiesta. Old equipment, furniture, singing, dancing, food & workshops. Attended one workshop on Cyanotype prints, one of the earliest forms of photography, involved laying an object on chemically-treated paper then exposing it to sunlight. RFJπ πΊπ¦

An early morning walk along the coast to see the sunrise at beautiful Villajoyosa. Enjoy the gorgeous sunshine at home everyone. ππ RFJπ πΊπ¦

Late afternoon spent watching a pair of dippers catching and taking food to their young chicks in a nest along the river Derwent. RFJπ πΊπ¦

Out Torpenhow way all afternoon doing some nature photography for Bothel Wildlife groups up and coming bioblitz project. Some gorgeous finds just wandering in woodlands. RFJπ πΊπ¦

Nice evening for a wander along the Derwent to watch a pair of Dippers catching food for their young. RFJπ πΊπ¦

After 16 days of monitoring a Dipper nest, the first youngster fledged ystday. The parent fed and encouraged the young bird down to the river bed; it then fed it regularly and showed it how to catch prey. A wonderful evening experience; pure gold. John Gallagher RFJπ πΊπ¦

First day on Barra and it looks like it going to be a perfect start for the trip. ππ RFJπ πΊπ¦

A fairly cool, but gorgeous walk around parts of Vatersay this morning. Sunny, peaceful and beautiful but there is certainly a chilly nip in the breeze. Hope all VE Day celebrations are going well. πRFJπ πΊπ¦

Up very early this morning enjoying a beautiful bay to myself and hoping to see an otter. No luck so I practiced a bit of bird in flight photography whilst sitting around. Another lovely day. π RFJπ πΊπ¦

A most gorgeous, calm day for a crossing to Eriskay, where I witnessed my dream house. Explored the island, with lunch at the famous Am Politician, where they still have artefacts from the shipwreck made famous in Whisky Galore. Finally over the causeway to S Uist. πβοΈRFJπ πΊπ¦

Crazy wildlife day today; seen 9 eagles plus a chick in 5 different locations. A pair of golden eagles, 3 pairs of white tailed eagles & a solitary white tail, one feeding a chick. Sightings on S Uist, Grimsay/Ronay & Berneray. Many other birds also seen; amazing. RFJπ πΊπ¦

What a Spring! Everything is lapping up the sunshine. I could never imagine a lengthy trip to the Outer Hebrides with day after day of lovely weather. Enjoy it because weβll pay for it later! π€£πβοΈRFJπ πΊπ¦

A visit to Grimsay; Kallin Harbour has a shellfish processing plant with millions of discarded scallop shell. Grimsay Boat Museum displays the history of 4 generations of one families hand crafted fishing vessels; the family built over a 1000 magnificent boats by hand. RFJπ πΊπ¦

On Berneray before heading to Harris tmrw. Leisurely day of wandering with a picnic at West Beach, one of the most spectacular beaches in Scotland. The lovely Eilidh of the Coral Box told me the orange boat was the original passenger boat to Harris owned by her uncle.πRFJπ πΊπ¦

Looking over towards Taransay from the sand dunes at Seilebost just after sunrise this morning. π RFJπ πΊπ¦

Misty & cloudy early start to visit Lewis ystday, including the 3 spectacular Callanish stone cicles, the well preserved Dun Carloway Broch, the lovely black house village of Gearrannon & then a scenic walk to the dramatic Mangersta sea stacks. A long, interesting day. RFJπ πΊπ¦

Sunrise at Seilebost. Not a bad start for our last full day on Harris. The journey home starts tmrw. π RFJπ πΊπ¦

Wandered down to see if the low lake level was going to be a new record, but no chance. Despite looking very low, itβs still at least an inch (2.5cm) higher than summer 2018 and rain is due tonight! The rest of the low water plaques are out of the water. RFJπ πΊπ¦

Okay, so we needed the rain but enough is enough now! Why does this seem to happen so often in school holiday? π€·ββοΈ RFJπ πΊπ¦

Very quiet up Latrigg late this evening. I was hoping for a lovely sunset but the thick cloud remained stubborn. However, itβs always a gorgeous view down onto my home town. RFJπ πΊπ¦
