Some 28 members of Reading Civic Society held their annual lunch this year at the The Rising Sun, Reading. First first time we had been as a group. Vsuccessful. Course followed course smoothly - not always the case with 28 in the group. Good sized portions.

Passed Paddington today tucking into a sandwich, shopping in Waterstones completed. Waterstones have a new "Children's Bookshop", first day the sign has been up. What had Paddington bought? A member of staff whispered "He asked for his hero - Rupert the Bear Album 2025"

20 people took part in the first of Terry's Walkabouts of the Kendrick Conservation area . Who knew in the late 1880s -90s there was a massive swimming pool in South St, lasted 10 years. £160 raised for his charities. Eyes opened. Great fun.
