One of just a few Violet Oil Beetle (Meloe violaceus) triungulins seen on dandelion flowers at Hensol Forest, Vale of Glamorgan, this afternoon - unfortunately no sign of the adults. Also seen this ♀️ Orange-tailed Mining Bee (Andrena haemorrhoa) visiting the same dandelions.

Seen several Two-coloured mason bees (Osmia bicolor) on my allotment, searching for empty snail shells in which they build their nests. Collected more snail shells for them on a walk & after scattering them on the allotment one was already occupied after just 1h :-) #pollinators

My Two-coloured mason bee (Osmia bicolor) has finished her nest in an empty snail shell now & painstakingly covered the whole snail shell with small pieces of straw which she has collected nearby & transported back to her nest (the last picture shows a different bee doing this).
