Great to be part of today’s Leadership Matters ‘Unlocking Potential’ national leadership symposium in Birmingham, with a chance to connect with colleagues old and new Evelyn Forde MBE, John Camp OBE Robert Halfon

The view from here: my first time at the #HayFestival. Loved it. Went to superbly entertaining and informative sessions by Michael Rosen 💙💙🎓🎓 NICE 爷爷 & chris riddell (on Shakespeare) and Emma Barnett & Stacey Dooley (on the realities of motherhood).

The view from here: wonderful to enjoy a long walk around Chepstow with journalist Matthew Yeomans, author of the brilliant ‘Seascape: Notes from a Changing Coastline’, along with our mutual friend and general good guy, Andy Bethell.

A paean to language-learning via Darren Hankey ...

Have just finished Lisa Woollett's hauntingly beautiful book 'Lost to the Sea'. It explores the lost towns and cities off the UK coastline. This one's closest to me here in Suffolk - the once great medieval port of Dunwich, now miles out beneath the North Sea. #BartonBookshelf

The view from here: the perfect evening at the end of a very hot day to sit in the garden reading this brilliant account of the summer of 1976 by John Lincoln Williams. It’s gritty, compelling, and even comes with a Spotify playlist of relevant songs. Thanks, as ever, Aldeburgh Bookshop.

Today in four pics: Molly B has a lie-in; our walk around Ixworth; a (ahem) light lunch at The Brewers Rattlesden; and our walk in Pakenham tonight #SuffolkBigSkies.
