Here is another very important anecdotal observation that could be equally as important as scientific investigation. I had not noticed myself that ivy covered trees may suffer less from ash dieback disease, so I will be looking very hard from now onwards and see if I agree.

This is how it should be for trees. Such a huge asset to our environment and deserving of protection. Where I live oak, sycamore and elder have been felled as houses have been built too close to them and of course, eventually the trees impact the houses.
