Wow! Magical night of #Carols Royal Albert Hall Fantastic performances from Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Royal Choral Society National Youth Choir @gregbeardsell And the audience were in fine voice too. What a joy. #RAHChristmas 🎶🎄🎅🧑🎄

First trip to the theatre in 2025 is for #BalletShoes National Theatre. I loved the novel as a child. Don’t go expecting a faithful adaptation. But it’s wonderfully staged by a terrific cast led by @Pearlie_mack 🎭🩰✈️

I broke the news of Jakub Hrusa’s appointment as Music Director RoyalOperaHouse on BBC Radio 4 Today. No one BBC News (UK) had heard of him. He’s a ⭐️ & now conducting #Jenufa. Amazing. You can hear every note the Royal Ballet and Opera orchestra plays, yet it sounds like a sublime, cohesive whole. Loved it.

I’m delighted to be presenting the The Bestseller Awards tonight, the only book awards based on sales data - from Nielsen NielsenIQ BookData. So expect a room full of bestselling authors Ham Yard. 👏👏👏 Thanks to Nielsen BookData & bolognabookplus for organising such a 5⭐️evening. 📚🏆

Congratulations to ALL the winners at the #bestsellerawards tonight including Richard Osman Adele Parks Susan Lewis Liz Pichon - astonishing book sales from one and all. I loved presenting the show & meeting so many old friends - and making new ones. The Bestseller Awards

25 highlights from the Oskar Reinhart collection have arrived The Courtauld and most have never left Switzerland before. Exquisite jewels from Goya, Cezanne and Monet among others. I loved this painting of plants and flowers by #renoir Swiss Embassy UK

Bit late to it but I loved Hisham Matar’s brilliantly written novel My Friends and I can’t recommend it enough. I know the The Booker Prizes judges had a tough job last year but it’s a shame they couldn’t find room for it on the shortlist. Viking Books UK RCW Literary Agency #MyFriends

Great to be back Hay Festival this year. I’m hosting an event with the wonderful duo Richard Coles and Jeremy Vine | Here, on Tiktok, Insta & Facebook on 30 May, 7pm. And with the equally wonderful Lynn Barber and Dame Zandra Rhodes on 1 June, 4pm. Hope to see you there 📚 #HayFestival2025

Forget The Scream. It was interesting to see another side to Edvard Munch at the press preview for the 1st exhibition of his portraits in the UK National Portrait Gallery. I liked the earlier works, like this self-portrait👇more than the later ones. #Munch #art 🎨

On my way to OxfordLitFest to talk to the Poet Laureate Simon Armitage about all things poetry - and much more besides. Maybe see you there .. #oxfordliteraryfestival #poetry oxfordliteraryfestival.org/literature-eve…

🎥 Thrilled to host a live-streamed conversation with Christopher Wheeldon at Royal Ballet and Opera on Ballet to Broadway: Wheeldon Works — exploring his journey from classical ballet to Olivier Awards winner for #MJTheMusical and beyond. #ChristopherWheeldon #RoyalOperaHouse #ballet

Still buzzing from last night's event hosting Koen Kessels, Music Director of the Royal Ballet and Opera 🎼🩰 Fascinating insights into leadership and how he works with dancers & choreographers. Huge thanks to everyone who came & made it so special. #RoyalBallet #arts

Loved talking to Robert Harris about his career, his latest novel #Precipice & the screen adaptations of his bestsellers - at the Hay Festival. Thanks to the sell-out crowd of 1700 people who joined us, the #festival team & Najma Finlay Hutchinson Heinemann 📚

Still smiling after hosting Richard Coles & Jeremy Vine | Here, on Tiktok, Insta & Facebook at the Hay Festival. 😂🎤 There were stories, laughter & impersonations. It felt like a moderating a wonderfully British podcast that had somehow escaped into real life. Thanks to them & those who came. 👏

"Why?" That's what the brilliant Lynn Barber said was the most effective question in journalism, when we talked at the Hay Festival. A great conversation which ranged over her career & new book A Little Art Education. Thanks to the #festival team & everyone who came. #books

My first time at Opera Holland Park - and appropriately, bearing in mind the appalling weather, it’s to see The Flying Dutchman

Loved The Flying Dutchman at Opera Holland Park, with wonderful performances led by Paul Carey Jones & Eleanor Dennis, fantastic playing by City of London Sinfonia (CLS) & torrential rain offstage. 👏to James Clutton. 🙏 #opera #london #wagner #theflyingdutchman

Superlative commentary Nick Mullins on an epic final Roland-Garros Utterly compelling #Tennis. Bravo #Alcaraz 👏🎾
