Seed traps are set up and ready for the 2023 season! So grateful for all my students who helped (Hoang, Tyler, Aaron, Eliana and Elena). 4 days, 360 traps, could not have done it without them.

Out collecting black oak acorns yesterday and noticed all these caps with a chunk taken out. My guess is squirrels? Releasing the nut from the cap? Any other ideas?
